This chapter describes all relevant inspections that one can expect in the port.
The Riyadh MOU governs the Port State Control inspection of ships in UAE ports to verify that the condition of the ship and its equipment comply with the requirements of international regulations and that the ship is manned and operated in compliance with convention standards.
Port State Control Inspections are carried out in UAE by inspectors assigned by the Federal Transport Authority. Port State Control Inspections may be carried out, on behalf of the Federal Transport Authorities, by the Harbour Master or his Representative.

Vessels may also be subject to security inspections by CICPA or the Coast Guard.
Vessels may be subject to a safety inspection by the Harbour Master or his deputy.
