2.1    Stemming from its commitment to protect the environment and preserve the marine life and further enhance the way it conducts shipping business, ADNOC has been authorized by the SPC, by way of Circular No (2/2005) of 26 February 2005 and subsequent documents, to implement a ship vetting system, as set out in this Standard.

2.2    The purpose of this Standard is to provide the necessary marine risk assurance and to make all business entities that are involved in the marine transport of oil, gas, chemical and bulk cargoes and other concerned stakeholders associated with the ADNOC Group, aware of ADNOC Ship Vetting requirements.
